Naema Ray
     Naema Ray - Teacher

I was born and raised in Martinez (go Dogs!) and I am proud to live and work in my community. I earned my BFA in Community Arts and Art Education from the California College of the Arts, along with a minor in Printmaking. I earned my single subject teaching credential from MILLS College. I began my teaching career as an art teacher before moving on to preschool special education. I received my Early Childhood Special Education teaching credential and Master’s degree in the same subject from San Francisco State University. I am also a practicing artist, mostly in printmaking and wood crafts, and a diehard Green Bay Packer fan.

I am new to the Martinez School district, but have taught in West Contra Costa for 8 years.  I have worked with all ages in special education; from preschool to young adults, but my heart is definitely with our little ones!  I first began teaching in 1997 and have multiple subject, mild to moderate, and moderate to severe teaching credentials, and have had the chance to use them all :-) .

I currently live in Hercules with my twin teenagers, 2 dogs, 3 cats and 2 geckos.

Lindsey Rossi

     Lindsey Rossi - Teacher

This is my first year at Martinez Unified and as a special education teacher. I previously worked as a paraeducator for 10 years at Mt. Diablo Unified School District with students with varying needs, TK to adulthood. I received my Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences at John F. Kennedy University. I was torn between becoming a nurse or teacher at the time (I am so happy I chose education!). I then took a break from school, had my daughter Audrey (she’s 5 now!), and enrolled at California State University East Bay where I earned a Master’s in Early Childhood Education. I am currently still in school at National University working towards a mild to moderate and multiple subject teaching credentials. As you can tell, I am a lifelong student! Reading has always been a hobby of mine so I enjoy reading books with the students, as well as art projects, why not get messy once in a while! I am so grateful to be apart of the MEIPP community and starting my teaching journey with your students.
